प्रश्न २९-णाणावरणिज्जस्स णं भंते ! कम्मस्स केवइयं कालं बंठिइ पण्णत्ता ?
__ उत्तर २९-गोयमा! जहण्णेणं अंतोमुहुत्तं उक्कोसेणं तीसं सागरोवमकोडाकोडीओ तिण्णि य वाससहस्साई अबाहा अबाहूणिया कम्मठिइकम्मणिसेओ एवं दरिसणावरणिज्ज पि वेयणिज्जं जहण्णणं दो समया उक्कोसेणं जहा णाणावरणिज्ज मोहणिज्जं जहण्णेणं अंतोमहत्तं उक्कोसेणं सत्तरिसागरोवमकोडाकोडीओ सत्त य वाससहस्साणि (अबाहा) अबाहूणिया कम्मठिइकम्मणिसेओ आउगं जहण्णेणं अंतोमुहत्तं उक्कोसेणं तेत्तीसं सागरोवमाणि पुव्वकोडितिभागमभहियाणि कम्मठिइ-कम्मणिसेओ णामगोयाणं जहण्णणं अट्ठ मुहुत्ता उक्कोसेणं वीसं सागरोवमकोडाकोडिओ दोगिण य वाससहस्साणि अबाहा अबाहूणिया कम्मठिइ-कम्मणिसेओ अंतराइयं जहा णाणावरणिज्ज।
Q. 28. Bhante ! How many have been stated to be the divisions of karma ?
A. 28. Gautama! Karma divisions have been stated to be eight, which are, karma enshrouding knowledge, karma enshrouding vision, ... till karma obstructing capacity to enjoy.
Q. 29. Bhante ! How long is the bondage of karma enshrouding knowledge stated to exist ?
A. 29. Gautama ! Minimum less than 48-minutes (muhurta), and maximum 30 kodakodi sāgaropamas. Period of dormant state of this karma, called abādhā, is 30,000 years. Total span of existence of karma bondage minus the pericd of the dormant state of karma gives the pericd of karma nişeka when karma has ceased to be dormant and has come up to make itself felt, in brief, period of karma experience. Karma enshrouding vision should be known to be similar to this. Karma enshrouding pleasure (vedaniya) has a minimum existence of two time-units, and its maximum . is as much as that of karma enshrouding knowledge.
