QUALITIES OF THE TAOIST
Superior character appears like a hollow (valley); Sheer white appears like tarnished; Great character appears like insufficient; Solid character appears like infirm; Pure worth appears like contaminated. Great space has no corners; Great talent takes long.to mature; Great music is faintly heard;
Great form has no contour;
And Tao is hidden without a name.
It is this Tao that is adept at lending its power and bringing fulfillment.

ताओपथी के गुणध
श्रेष्ठ चरित्र घाटी की तरह खाली प्रतीत होता है, निपट उजाला धुंधलके की तरह दिखता हैं, महा चरित्र अपर्याप्त मालूम पड़ता हैं, ठोस चरित्र दुर्बल दिखता हैं, शुद्ध योग्यता दूषित मालूम पड़ती हैं। महा अंतरिक्ष के कोने नहीं होते; महा प्रतिभा प्राँद होने में समय लेती हैं,
महा संगीत धीमा सुनाई देता हैं,
महा रूप की रूप-रेखा नहीं होती,
और ताओ अनाम छिपा हैं।
और यह वही ताओ हैं जो दूसरों को शक्ति देने और आप्तकाम करने में पद हैं।
