I. 12--Read janasāda-bhavanam for anupa-dabha-vanam, and translate it by " the de
mon's habitat," interpreting janasāda as the same word us the Pali purisa
sādd or porisada which literally means" a man-eater." P. 210-Add : " Vijādharadhidāsa is evidently an expression similar to Vijjahara-nagara.
vāsa (Jaina Jambudvīpa-Prajñapti, Ch. I), which means the Vidyadhara capital (rajadhani).' The Jambudvipa-Prajiapti alludes to 50 Vidyadhara cities in the south, situate on two sides of the Vaitādbya range, extended length wise, dividing South India from the Northern, and to 60 cities in the porth, situate along the spurs of the Himalayan mountain. The cities are described as rich, secure, prosperous and deligntful, where the inbabitants of the towns and districts lived bappily. Their inhabitants who were human
