Maharshi Patanjali. As has been now historically assessed the same was composed to the tune of Samkhya, during period period of 100 B.C. to 200/300 A.D. The composer has given it being based on Samkhya. Earlier to Buddhism Veda were obsessed with Yagyas and in fact had been opposed to Old Samkhya epic. But the system was adopted only after advent of Vedanta-Aupashid. As described in legendary Sutra (200 to 400 A.D.) As Buddhism emerged in 2600 B.C. contemporary period of Mahavira the 24th Tirthankara. Shramana Ascetic ways are the continuity of Arhat Dhara. This indicates ancient most ancestry far beyond Puaranic ages, (5000 B.C.) and yonder, In early Veda, Purana-s, Adideva/Rishabh-deva has been narrated, as Yogisvara. His advent has been an exuberant link with Pre-historic Era littered with Yogic postures etc. Before attempting to proceed for a concise review of the origin of the system, the question that may arise what is 'Dhyana'?
Dialectics of DHYANA: Dhyna is taken as a posture, steadfastness, concentration system, or the 'implied Tantra technic, etc. This has been however taken lately in the Western sphere as an work out, exercise or so. In East too, Mantra, Occult-ic practices etc. are understood or substituted for it. Science as seen above has been impressed by its effectiveness and do have made scientific studies too of the subject. It is the effects of the performance which is examined with quite positive outcome. But what such inquests have so far considered is the physical part or psycho-physical aspect of it only. DHYANA do have as an integral composition all such ingredients no doubt, but it is hardly a full stop. It also includes Japa, Tapa, Smarana, even Mauna, Ajapajaap etc. in its process and strategies and yet this is not all. What is elusively missed is X-plus of DHYANA Verbally the
