________________ 2) We can break this vicious circle of karma-udaya and karma fala by conscious efforts. We can reverse the whole process by preksa mediation and value-added meditation called anupreksa. Regular anupreksa of the doctrine of karma involving influx of karma (asrava bhavana), its inhibition (samvara bhavana) and its annihilations (nirjara bhavana) is very useful for a sadhaka in achieving his Ultimate Goal of total freedom from the bondage of karma. The benefits of such anupreksa. are as follows: - 1) Anupreksa. of the causes of the bondage of karma will erable him to desist from them. Anupreksa of the causes of inhibition and destruction of accumulated karma will inspire him to adopt the spiritual path of samvara and nirjara. 3) Anupreksa of the various states of karmabandha, such as, udirana, sankramana, etc., will enable him to overcome or nullify, either wholly or partially, the effects of the rise of karma. For instance, by intense anupreksa, he can convert pain producing feeling (asata vedniya) karma into pleasure producing feeling (sata vedaniya) karma Anupreksa of equanimity will enable him to suffer the fruits of sinful (papa) karma philosophically thus avoiding damaging (asubha) meditation (artta and raudra dhyana). This is very important for him to discontinue the vicious circle of karma bandha. ૧૦૨ જેનસાહિત્ય જ્ઞાનસત્ર-૪
