________________ overcome negative emotions. For example, bhavana of friendship (maitri) can get rid of hostility. These 'neurotic barriers' or `primitive wishes' deeply buried in our unconscious mind can be exorcised by 'pratipaksha'i.e. antibhavanas, e.g. forgiveness for revenge, forbearance for anger, humility for arrogance, straightforwardness for deceit, contentment for greed, etc. Yogasastra employs bhavana in the sense of cultivation of certain virtuous emotions in order to counteract certain evil tendencies (Yogasastra, 11. 33-34) Therapeutic Thinking is one of the most powerful techniques for personal transmutation. By practicing it regularly, one can achieve self discipline by transmuting the negative emotions such as hatred, anger, fear, rage, retaliation, etc. into positive ones such as peace, love, friendship, kindness, etc. The effort required for eradicating the negative qualities is ethical and not intellectual. Therapeutic Thinking is such an ethical effort. It cures the emotional, mental and physical sicknesses by destroying their root causes. Once the roots of these disorders are removed, there will emerge a state of unprecedented peace and bliss". 9. Modus operandi of programme 9.1. Now let us discuss our main topic of interaction between the karma and PM. It is therefore necessary to have a clear concept of how the rise of the karma starts a whole chain of reaction in the subtle and the gross bodies. 9.2. For that, we must first see the Modus Operandi of the Psychophysical System. This is divided into two parts: 1) subtle body and 2) gross body. I.
