EXPLANATION This is a stavan or bhajan which in short says, `If you do good deeds you will get a good reward.' It is an everlasting justice of nature that you get a fruit according your work. Even the earth the soil of our country or any country gives the fruits according to what you sow in it. In the first stanza there it is metioned that a king named shalibhadra was a great donor and he used to give Khir (a sweet dish) in donation to the needy and hungry people. It is said that he got wealth and fame in his next birth. It is a true proverb that you feed somebody and you will be fed by God. The second stanza explains the same proverb or the principle by giving different examples. How can one expect a fruit of Mango from the baval tree? Baval tree is full of thorns. How can you expect beautiful flowers after sawing a tree full of thorns? If you have always wished bad about everybody how can you expect good result from God? You can't expect to get nector after giving poison to anybody. So always do good things and try to help somebody if you can and automatically you will be rewarded. -Pushpa Parikh Mahatma Gandhi on Non-violence Non-violence is not a garment to be put on or off at will. Its seat is in the heart and it must be an inseparable part of our very being. I am prepared to die, but there is no cause for which I am prepared to kill. Non-violence leads to the highest ethics which is the goal of all evolution. Until we stop harming all other living beings, we are still savages. Truth implies love and firmness endenger and therefore serves as a synonym for force. I thus began to call the Indian movement satyagraha; to say the force which is born of truth and love or non-violence. It is the acid test of non-violence that in non-violent conflicts there is no rancour left behind and, in the end; the enemies are converted into friends.
