यमक - बोली. The passage numbered 445-447.
The distinction between them, if any, is not clear. defined as a type of musical composition in musicological texts like the HIER is quite different. In several Old Gujarati texts like the years of माणिक्यचंद्रसूरि (A.C. 1422) rhymed prose is used and it is called बोलि. In LC. also बोली occurs in the designations कांयाई बोली and अडिल्लाई बोली. Language, Style and Literary Assessment
The language of the verses in Gatha is Prakrit. The language of the verses in other metres besides that of the rhyming prose passage is Old Gujarati. But this latter statement is to be qualified somewhat. As remarked ealier, the author is guided is his composion of various metres by the works of Bardic tradition chiefly represented by the प्राकृत पैंगल. Hence in the language of various metres there is a touch of the fi and डिंगल dialects.
As to the style, the author shows his skill in poetic descriptions and drawing realistic pictures as and when required. He himself has said in his introduction that the LC. is सालंकार, समार्थ, सच्छंदस, सरस, सगुण and fed (echoing Abdal Rahanana's characterization of good poetry in the Samdeśarāsaka as adorned with लक्खण-छंदाहरण).
Besides his comendable metrical skill Iśvarasuri aquits himself very well in descriptions and delineation of sentiments. He takes full advantage of homonyms in Prakrit, Apabhraṁśa and Old Gujarati to weave श्लेषs as required by अडिल्ला, यडिल्ला and also in a number of चालि passages.
