(v) TT Th 037 afara धरित्ती पल्लंको दो वि हत्था सुवत्थं । पिया णिहा णिच्चं कव्वकीला विणोओ अदीणतं चित्तं ईसरो पुप्फदन्तो । This stanza states that the poet Puşpadanta is a king in as much as he has the nobility of mind : the whole world is his fine mansion house, the moon the lamp, the ground his bed-stead, his arms his clothing, sleep his beloved and poetry his pastime. The stanza is found in G and K, and in all other Mss. at the beginning of the tenth samdhi, and also at the beginning of the fiftieth samdhi of the Uttarapurana in Poona, Jaipore and Karanja Mss. 6. ( vi ) 07frorficafreut TUETAUTIESTI सिरिकुसुमदसणकइमुहणिवासिणी जयइ वाईसी ॥ 7. (vii) Tettarei afaria afatfadferreita: कान्तं कुन्दावदातं दिशि दिशि च यशो यस्य गीतं सुरोधैः । काले तृष्णाकराले कलिमलमलितेऽप्यद्य विद्याप्रियो गां। सोऽयं संसारसारः प्रियसखि भरतो भाति भूमण्डलेऽस्मिन् ॥ Of these the first stanza glorifies the poetic genius of Puşpadanta and the second glorifies Bharata, the poet's patron, for his appreciation of learning in the Kali age. These stan zas are found in G and K at the beginning of 30th samdhi and in MBP and others of this group at the beginning of 29th samdhi. 8. (viii) facenefa negafaun: sålungafa i भरतस्य वल्लभासो कीर्तिस्तदपीह चित्रतरम् ॥ The stanza note that it was strange on the part of Bharata still to cherish love for fame, conceived as his wife, when she wanders wantonly in every house and freely dallies with bards. This stanza is found in G and all Mss. of the other group, but is missing in K. The want of agreement in G and K in this respect, however, strengthens my hypothesis that these stanzas do not form an integral part of the text, but were composed by the poet at a later stage and added in the margin of some of the copies of his work that he still had with him. The agreement existing between G and K regarding the location of the above-mentioned praśasti stanzas led me to believe that they formed a group by themselves. This belief of mine was confirmed by a general agreement of the variants and also by non-inclusion of a long passage, found in Mss. of the other group and noted by me in the Critical Apparatus on page 514 of the printed text.
