अणाणुपुब्बी एयाए चेव एगादियाए एगुत्तरियाए दसकोडिसयगच्छगयाए सेढीए अन्नमनन्भासो दुरूवूणो। से तं अणाणुपुवी। से तं गणणाणुपुबी। २०४. (प्रश्न ४) अनानुपूर्वी क्या है ?
(उत्तर) इन्हीं को एक से लेकर दस अरब पर्यन्त की एक-एक वृद्धि वाली श्रेणी में स्थापित संख्या का परस्पर गुणा करने पर जो भंग हो, उनमें से आदि और अन्त के दो भंगों को कम करने पर शेष रहे भंग अनानुपूर्वी हैं।
204. (Question 4) What is this Ananupurvi ?
(Answer) Place the aforesaid numbers (of numerical units) starting from first and progressively adding one up to ten kotishat (ten arab). Multiply all the numbers of this arithmetic progression and subtract 2 (depicting the ascending and descending sequence) from the result. This final result is called ananupurvi (random sequence).
