(अनुभूति प्रधान) १. वीर रस-वास्तव में वीर वह है जिसने संसार-सुखों का त्यागकर काम, क्रोध आदि महाशत्रुओं का निग्रह किया है। जैसे भगवान महावीर ने समस्त वैभव त्यागकर दीक्षा ली। मनःसंयमी सच्चा वीर है।
२. शृंगार रस-सुन्दर युवतियों का नृत्य देखने, कमर व पाँवों में बँधे घुघुरुओं की मधुर ध्वनि सुनने से विकारीभाव व विलासीभाव उत्पन्न होना शृंगार रस का उदाहरण है।
३. अद्भुत रस-अद्भुत और कठिन कार्य को देखकर विस्मित होना। भौतिक जगत् में जैसे किसी को बाँस की रस्सी पर हाथों व सिर पर कप-प्लेट रखकर एक चक्के वाली साइकिल चलाते देखकर दर्शकों को विस्मय होता है। आध्यात्मिक दृष्टि में-जिन वाणी सुनकर त्रिकालवर्ती तत्त्वों का ज्ञान हो जाना सबसे बड़ा आश्चर्य है।
४. रौद्र रस-किसी जीव की हिंसा/वध करते समय मुख पर अत्यन्त क्रूर भावों का उभरना, तथा पशुओं के रक्त-माँस से सने हाथ आदि देखने से रौद्र रस का परिपाक होता है।
EXAMPLES OF NINE RASAS
(EXPERIENCE BASED) 1. Vira-rasa-He indeed is a great hero (Mahavir) who, after renouncing mundane pleasures, subdues and destroys great enemies like lust and anger. True hero is he who has disciplined his mind.
2. Shringar-rasa-Rising of pervert emotions and passions by seeing dances of beautiful women, and hearing the sweet and charming sound of jingling bells tied to their waist and feet.
3. Adbhut-rasa-To be astonished by witnessing a strange and difficult act. The audience is astonished looking at an acrobat riding one wheeled cycle on a rope tied to two poles, taking cup-plates in hands and on head. From spiritual viewpoint the greatest wonde fact that in the words of the Jina are revealed all the objects and states of all the three periods of time. (69)
4. Raudra-rasa-Extremely cruel expressions appear on the face when someone kills or tortures an animal. The emotion further matures when he looks at his hands drenched in blood of that animal.
