तपथराणां धुरि कीर्त्यते यो
महानहिंसाचरणावतारः । जगद्धिताऽऽदर्शविभासिवाचः __ स्मरामि तं किश्चन वर्धमानम् ॥ १ ॥
જે તપસ્વીઓમાં અગ્રેસર તરીકે ગવાય છે, જે અહિંસાને યા અહિંસામય ચારિત્રને મહાન અવતાર છે અને જેની વાણું, જગતને હિતાવહ એવા આદર્શને પ્રકાશ કરનારી છે, એ વર્ધમાનને હું કંઈક યાદ કરું છું.
Let me meditate awhile on the Lord Vardhamāna, the best amongst ascetics, the great incarnation to practise non-injury, and whose teachings illumined the ideal which proved beneficial to mankind.
