________________ In fact we can put it this way: “ If you want your life to be full of happiness, feed your children from the bowl of good values.” Don't suppress your emotions, channelise them positively: Suppression of emotions leads to stress. This gives rise to conflict between humans. Hence do not let stress develop in yourselves, channelise those stressful emotions into a positive direction. This is the best way to advance spiritually. If we do this then our bad habits gradually fall away and we are spared the pain of suffering for their consequences. At this stage we have to be careful not to allow them to re enter our lives. We must strive hard to maintain our achievements.... This is possible if we remain alert and do our spiritual practices. We must be careful to remain balanced and centred. This is very difficult to do because the mind is fickle and keeps returning to its previous bad habits. However, as said earlier, we must be alert and continue with our practice and slowly channelise the mind into that groove. Cultivate only those desires which do not bring you down: Friends, I would not like you to suppress your desires. Instead elevate your desires to such an extent that they are not tainted by selfishness. Your desire should be to work for the collective good without any personal attachment. If there is such a desire in you, I would not condemn it, rather it is praiseworthy. You must not think that it is not possible to achieve this level of feeling in yourselves. Impossible is not a word that a sincere person has in their vocabulary. Such people proceed step by step and finally achieve their goal. 113 amrender muni ji maharaj Jain Education International For Private & Personal Use Only www.jainelibrary.org
