Is there something beyond the world? Is there a guru or perfect being with all the answers? Is there a permanent solution? Has history shown true improvement? It appears that suffering is alleviated, but it is not We offer medicines, but they only address physical needs We redistribute wealth, but this only improves material well being We clean our environment, but this only preserves the outside world Do any of these bring us inner happiness? The do-gooders feel pride in their work The doctor rejoices in curing sick bodies The politician delights in filling peoples' pockets The environmentalist celebrates cleaning air, land, water Do any of these bring us inner happiness?
