________________ Pure and Applied? The doctor said, what we teach is half wrong in medical school Problem is we do not know which half is wrong Isn't this the problem of science today and forever? It maybe the reason our theories change every decade or so We do not know the ultimate truth and then believe in half truth All our fights, disagreements are about this half truth In medical science, we seem to progress, learn, regress Our quest to understand the body, to be healthy and happy, still seems far People talk about pure and applied sciences. If one does not know the pure, how could one apply? How could there be two sciences? The pure scientist's quest is to find the whole truth Does not believe in distractions from the quest in looking for applications The focus is to reach complete truth Does not matter how much time and effort it might take 139
