जैनत्व जागरण.......
भगवान पार्श्वनाथ और भगवान महावीर के विचरण क्षेत्र :
पाश्चात्य विद्वानों और जैन ग्रन्थों से हमें पता चलता है कि छोटा नागपुर के पार्श्वनाथ पर्वतके समीप के क्षेत्र में भगवान महावीर से पूर्व ही सराक लोगों ने यहाँ अपना निवास स्थापित किया था । भगवान महावीर ने अपनी साधना के छः वर्ष इसी क्षेत्र में बिताये थे । भगवती 1 सूत्र से पता चलता है कि उस समय पार्श्वनाथ सम्प्रदाय के साधु-साध्वियों का भी यह विचरण क्षेत्र था । अतः यह माना जा सकता है कि महावीर से पूर्व भी यहाँ पार्श्व परम्परा या श्रमण परम्परा प्रचलित थी ।
"The 24th Tirthankara whom Professor Wilson represents as having "adopted an ascetic life and traversed the country occupied by the Bajra Bhumi and the Sudhi Bhumi who abused and beat him and shot at him with arrows and barked at him with dogs. of which small annoyances he took no notice." The Bajra or terrible Bhumi are, according to Colonel Dalten, the Bhumij. He suggests, therefore, that it is not improbable that the shrines referred to mark the course taken in his travels by the great saint "Vira;" and were erected in his honour by the people whom his teaching had converted, or, it may be and this is more consistent with local tradition on which however, no great weight can be placed-that he merely visited places at which Jains were already established. within sight of the sacred mount Samaya where 250 years earlier the Jin Paswa or Parasnath had obtained Nirvana.

" जैन सूत्र ग्रन्थों (आचारांग सूत्र, भगवती सूत्र इत्यादि) में ऐसा भी प्रमाण मिलता है कि महावीर से पहले भी कुछ जैन मुनि या सन्यासीगण धर्मप्रचार के उद्देश्य को लेकर या फिर किसी और कारण से इन अंचलों में आये थे । ऐसा लगता है कि ये सभी मुनि और सन्यासीगण महावीर के पूर्ववर्ती तीर्थंकर पार्श्वनाथ के अनुगामी रहे होंगे । अगर यह अनुमान
