There are following five major violations pertaining to this vow of limitation of occupations: 1. Occupations in which furnaces are used, 2. Occupations in which trees are cut, 3. Occupations in fermented goods, such as liquor, 4. Occupations of renting animals, birds, etc., 5. Occupations involving excavations and explosions, 6. Trades in ivory, bones, horns, fur, etc., 7. Manufacturing activities concerned with crushing, etc., 8. Trades in lard, honey, meat, fat, etc., 9. Trades in sealing wax, etc., 10. Trades in poisonous and toxic substances such as opium, and pesticides, etc., 11. Occupations in which animals, birds, fish, etc. are tortured or killed, 12. Occupations in which animals, birds, etc. are amputated, 13. Occupations in which fires are set in forests, fields, etc., 14. Occupations in which lakes, wells, ponds, etc. are dried up, or 15.
