Soc.," 1916, pp. 507-12, and 1921, pp. 117-19) considered the books to be forgeries of the last century. His opinion has been accepted by various scholars, such as Roger Lescot (see his excellent manual, Enquête sur les Yezidis de Syrie et du Diebel Sindjar, "MÉMOIRES DE L'INSTITUT FRANÇAIS DE DAMAS," V, Beyrouth, 1938).
