After observing asceticism for twelve years he died on mount Vipula and again took birth in the Aparājiya(6) celestial abode. Thence he will be born in the Mahāvideha region and attain emancipation there.

3. Latthadamta He is the same as Latthadamta(2). The repetition seems to be nothing more than another reading of the same story in the next section. Here the period of ascetic practice is sixteen years and the celestial abode is Vejayamta in place of Aparäjiya.
