(2) [74] Notes: means essential quality which here stands faith, knowledge, conduct, penance and potentiality (ज्ञान, दर्शन, चारित्र, तप and वीर्य ) (2) [74] for Jñānasara या शान्तैकरसास्वादाद्भवे तृप्तिरतीन्द्रिया । सा न जिहेन्द्रियद्वारा पसास्वादनादपि || ३ || || ७५ ॥ yā sāntaikarasāsvādād bhavet trptiratīndriyā | sā na jihvendriyadvārā ṣadrsāsvādanādapi ||3|| ||75|| Meaning: The ultra-sensual satiety obtainable from the enjoyment of the sentiment of peace can not be had from tasting all the six tastes even with the senseorgan called tongue. (3) [75] Notes: Tastes are six, namely, pungent (g), bitter ( तिक्त ), astringent ( कषाय ), sweet (मधुर), oily ( स्निग्ध), and salty (a).
