________________ commited by the saints and Aaryikās. In other words, pratikramana/expiation means and includes the process of purification of volitions. Each and every Saint/Aaryikā must practice pratikramana irrespective of the facts that he/she has commited or not any faults. The conduct of a Saints/ Aaryikā includes recitation of eulogies alongwith that of pratikramana such recitation of eulogies forms a part and parcel of his/her daily routine. Achārya shri Amitagati in his "Laghu Sāmāyak Pātha" says, "Oh Goddess Saraswati! please bestow upon me (or bless me) with enlightenment, union with self, purity of volitions, attainmnt of myself, achievement of the bliss of salvation. Also bless me with "Chiņtāmani" (the gem which yields all that what so ever is asked). In this sloka Achārya Amitagati has given proper importance to the purity of volitions (Parināma-shuddhi) without which purification and perfection of soul or salvation is not at all possible. "Pratikraman" is i.e. why has been prescribed to be observed as an essential duty; as it leads to purification of volitions (parināma-shuddhi). Āchārya Kundkund Swāmi gives utmost importance to purity of volitions and he has composed separate "Pāhuda" named 'Bhāva Pāhuda' on this subject. In 'Bhāva Pāhuda' Achārya shri maintains that all merits & demerits are caused by volitions. He emphatically asserts that a saint can not attain salvation in case he does not nourish and reflect upon the nature of soul. Such a saint shall not attain salvation by adopting Digambar posture and hanging his hands and performing hard and difficult austerities for billions of life spans. Āchārya Amitagati in his "Laghu Sāmāyika Patha" says "बोधि समाधि परिणाम शुद्धि स्वात्मोपलब्धि। शिव सौख्य सिद्धि, चिंतामणिं चिंतित-वस्तु माने । car4 GTFT 44TFCL, aditii" (TEL HTHTTC TO) "Dash Bhaktis (ten eulogies) named above are recited by digambar saints and Aaryikās.
