Jainism Through Science electromagnetic waves do not bend because particles of paramanuunits of light (photons) and those of electromagnetic waves can propagate through atmosphere and outer space consisting of paramāņu-units which consist of particles of smaller size and less mass, on account of their velocity, which is as high as 3,00,000 kms./sec.
Though the paramāņu-units of Bhāṣā Vargana are useful for propagation of words, they consist of many more paramānus then the units of Taijas Varganä or units of electromagnetic waves. Since the velocity of particles of units of Bhāṣa Vargana is 1.1 x 10 times less than that of photons, when propagating particles of Bhașa collide with other paramanu-units of Bhāṣa Vargana, obstruct them, and convert them into words or sound and get reflected. When the velocity of paramāņu-units of sound rises, with the help of electromagnetic force to the velocity of electricity, paramaņuunits of sound, too, propagate in a straight direction.
On the basis of all these scientific facts and on the basis of physics discussed and described in Jain scriptures, we can conclude that paramāņus dominate the whole universe and these microscopic particles while retaining their particle form, can behave like a wave. Contrarily to what Fritjof Capra says, their waveform is not created on destruction of their particle form nor does their particle form come into existence on destruction of their wave form. In short, when they are stationary, particles are in the form of particles. When they propagate they are perceived like a wave. But the wave form of particles is never seen.
I end this paper with an appeal to research scholars to explore the vast ocean of precious gems of knowledge lying hidden in oriental scriptures and assimilate them with modern science in the larger interest of human welfare.
