स्वरूप सिद्धि को विशुद्ध करता है। विनयमूलक सभी प्रशस्त (उत्तम) कार्यों को साधता (करता) है। बहुत से अन्य जीवों को भी विनयवान बनाने वाला होता है। ___Maxim 5 (Q). Bhante! What does ajiva (soul/living being) attain by taking care of the guru and co-religionists (guru-sadharmik sushrusa)?
(A). By taking care of the guru and co-religionists a being obtains modest disposition. A person with modest disposition avoids disrespect to teachers by misconduct. As a result he avoids ignoble rebirth in infernal, animal, divine and human realms. By praising, exposing virtues, devotion and honour of the guru he acquires bondage of noble rebirth in human and divine realms, and enhances purity leading to the exalted state of perfection (siddhi). He performs all noble acts based on modesty and inspires many others to be modest.
सूत्र ६-आलोयणाए णं भन्ते ! जीवे किं जणयइ ?
आलोयणाए णं माया-नियाण-मिच्छादसणसल्लाणं मोक्खमग्गविग्घाणं अणन्त संसारवद्धणाणं उद्धरणं करेई। उज्जुभावं च जणयइ। उज्जुभावपडिवन्ने य णं जीवे अमाई इत्थीवेय-नपुंसगवेयं च न बन्धइ। पुव्वबद्धं च णं निज्जरेइ॥
सूत्र ६-(प्रश्न) भगवन् ! आलोचना (गुरुजनों के समक्ष अपने दोष स्पष्ट स्वर में व्यक्त करना) से जीव को क्या प्राप्त होता है?
(उत्तर) आलोचना से मोक्ष-मार्ग में विघ्न करने वाले तथा अनन्त संसार की वृद्धि करने वाले माया (छल-कपट), निदान (तप आदि की विषय भोग-सम्बन्धी-फल भोगाकांक्षा) और मिथ्यादर्शन शल्य (काँटों) को निकालकर फेंक देता है (उखाड़ देता है)। ऋजुभाव (सरलता) को प्राप्त होता है। ऋजुभाव प्रतिपन्न जीव मायारहित होता है। वह स्त्रीवेद और नपुंसकवेद का बन्ध नहीं करता और पूर्वबद्ध की निर्जरा करता है।
Maxim 6 (Q). Bhante! What does a jiva (soul/living being) attain by criticizing faults committed (aalochana) (candid confession of his faults before the guru)?
(A). By criticizing faults committed, a being uproots the thorns of deceit, expectation (desire for mundane pleasures as fruits of austerities and other practices) and wrong perception/faith, which multiply the cycles of rebirth (sumsar) and obstruct the path of liberation. He gains simplicity. By gaining simplicity he becomes devoid of deceit. He does not attract bondage of the karmas responsible for feminine and neuter genders and sheds those accumulated in the past.
सूत्र ७-निन्दणयाए णं भन्ते ! जीवे किं जणयइ ?
निन्दणयाए णं पच्छाणुतावं जणयइ। पच्छाणुतावेणं विरज्जमाणे करणगुणसेढिं पडिवज्जइ। करणगुणसेढिं पडिवन्ने य णं अणगारे मोहणिज्जं कम्मं उग्घाएइ॥
सूत्र ७-(प्रश्न) भगवन् ! निन्दना (स्वयं के दोषों का पश्चात्ताप) से जीव को क्या (फल) प्राप्त होता है?
