सचित्र उत्तराध्ययन सूत्र
कायट्ठिई मणुयाणं, अन्तरं तेसिमं भवे।
अणन्तकालमुक्कोसं, अन्तोमुहुत्तं जहन्नयं ॥२०२॥ उन (गर्भज मनुष्यों) का अन्तर (काल) उत्कृष्टतः अनन्तकाल है और जघन्यतः अन्तर्मुहूर्त काल का होता है। २०२॥
The maximum intervening period between once leaving the body-type (placental human body), (taking rebirth in other body-types and moving in cycles of rebirth as other body-types) and again taking rebirth in the same body-type (placental human body) is infinite time and the minimum is one Antarmuhurt. (202)
एसेसिं वण्णओ चेव, गन्धओ रसफासओ।
संठाणादेसओ वावि, विहाणाई सहस्ससो॥२०३॥ उन (गर्भज मनुष्यों) के वर्ण, गन्ध, रस, स्पर्श और संस्थान की अपेक्षा से हजारों प्रकार हो जाते हैं॥ २०३॥
These placental human beings are also of thousands of kinds with regard to colour, smell, taste, touch and constitution. (203) देवों के सम्बन्ध में प्ररूपणा
देवा चउव्विहा वुत्ता, ते मे कित्तयओ सुण।
भोमिज्ज-वाणमन्तर, जोइस-वेमाणिया तहा॥२०४॥ . देव चार प्रकार के बताये गये हैं-(१) भोमिज्ज-भवनवासी, (२) वाणमंतर-वाणव्यंतर (व्यंतर), (३) जोइस-ज्योतिष्क (ज्योतिषी), और (४) वेमाणिया-वैमानिक। मैं इन चारों की प्ररूपणा करता हूँ, तुम मुझसे सुनो। २०४॥ Divine beings
___There are four kinds of divine beings (deva or god)-(1) Bhavanavasi (abode dwelling), (2) Vaanavyantar (interstitial), (3) Jyotishk (stellar), and (4) Vaimaaniks (celestial vehicular). I describe all the four, hear from me. (204)
दसहा उ भवणवासी, अट्ठहा वणचारिणो।
पंचविहा जोइसिया, दुविहा वेमाणिया तहा॥२०५॥ दस प्रकार के भवनवासी देव, आठ प्रकार के व्यंतर देव (वणचारिणो), पाँच प्रकार के ज्योतिषी देव और दो प्रकार के वैमानिक देव हैं। २०५॥
There are ten kinds of Bhavanavasi devas (abode dwelling gods), eight kinds of Vyantara devas (interstitial gods), five kinds of Jyotishk devas (stellar gods) and two kinds of Vaimaanik devas (celestial vehicular gods). (205)
असुरा नाग-सुवण्णा, विज्जू अग्गी य आहिया। दीवोदहि-दिसा वाया, थाणिया भवणवासिणो॥२०६॥
