षट् लेश्या परिणाम लेश्या-परिणामों की तरतमता का दृष्टान्त
संक्लिष्ट क्रूरतम भावना वाला कृष्णलेश्यी व्यक्ति फल के लिये वृक्ष को जड़मूल से काटने वाले के समान है। फिर उससे कुछ कम क्लिष्ट परिणाम वाला व्यक्ति क्रमशः शाखा काटने वाले (नीललेश्यी), टहनी काटने वाले (कापोतलेश्यी), कच्चे-पके फल मात्र तोड़ने वाले (तेजोलेश्यी) तथा सिर्फ पके फल तोड़ने वाले कोमल परिणामी (पद्मलेश्यी) एवं आवश्यकतानुसार मात्र पके फल बीनने वाले कोमलतम भद्र परिणामी (शुक्ललेश्यी) के प्रतीक हैं। (टीका अनुसार)

Possessing the cruelest feelings a person with black soul-complexion is like a man who wants to uproot a tree to get its fruits. Persons having gradually lesser cruel feelings are—one who cuts main branches is with blue soul-complexion; one who cuts small branches is with pigeon-blue soul-complexion; one who plucks ripe and unripe fruits is with fiery soulcomplexion; one who plucks only ripe fruits is with yellow soulcomplexion; and one who picks only needed fruits fallen on the ground is with white soul-complexion.
