एएसिं वण्णओ चेव, गंधओ रसफासओ।
संठाणादेसओ वा वि, विहाणाइं सहस्ससो॥१७८॥ इन जलचर पंचेन्द्रिय जीवों के-वर्ण, गन्ध, रस, स्पर्श और संस्थान की अपेक्षा से हजारों प्रकार हो जाते हैं। १७८॥
These five-sensed aquatic animals are also of thousands of kinds with regard to colour, smell, taste, touch and constitution. (178) तिर्यंच पंचेन्द्रिय स्थलचर जीव
चउप्पया य परिसप्पा, दुविहा थलयरा भवे।
चउप्पया चउविहा, ते मे कित्तयओ सुण॥१७९॥ स्थलचर पंचेन्द्रिय तिर्यंच जीवों के दो प्रकार हैं-(१) चतुष्पाद, और (२) परिसर्प। चतुष्पाद जीव चार प्रकार के होते हैं, उनका वर्णन मुझसे सुनो॥ १७९ ॥ Five-sensed terrestrial animals ___Five-sensed terrestrial animals are of two kinds-(1) quadruped, and (2) reptilian. Quadruped animals are of four kinds. Hear from me the description these. (179) .
एगखुरा दुखुरा चेव, गण्डीपय-सणप्पया।
हयमाइ-गोणमाइ, गयामाइ-सीहमाइणो॥१८०॥ चतुष्पाद पंचेन्द्रिय जीवों के चार भेद-(१) एक खुर वाले, (२) दो खुर वाले, (३) गण्डीपद वाले, और (४) सनखपद वाले। (इनके क्रमशः उदाहरण) (१) एक खुर वाले-घोड़े, गर्दभ-गधा.
आदि, (२) दो खुर वाले-गाय, बैल, भैंसा आदि, (३) गण्डीपद-हाथी, ऊँट आदि, (४) सनखपदबिल्ली, श्वान-कुत्ता आदि ॥ १८०॥
Four kinds of five-sensed quadruped animals-(1) solid-ungular animals like horse, (2) bi-ungular animals like cow, (3) multi-ungular (or with solid circular feet). animals like elephant and camel, and (4) animals with toes having nails like cat, dog and lion. (180)
भुओरगपरिसप्पा य, परिसप्प दुविहा भवे।
गोहाई अहिमाई य, एक्केक्का ऽणेगहा भवे॥१८१॥ परिसर्प स्थलचर तिर्यंच पंचेन्द्रिय जीव दो प्रकार के होते हैं-(१) भुज-परिसर्प, और (२) उर-परिसर्प। (इनके उदाहरण क्रमशः) भुज-परिसर्प-गोधा-गोह (गिलहरी, चूहा आदि), और (२) उर-परिसर्प-सर्प आदि। इनमें से प्रत्येक के अनेक भेद (प्रकार) हैं।। १८१॥ .
Five-sensed terrestrial reptiles are of two kinds-(1) limbed reptilians (bhuj-parisarp) like, lizards, (2) non-limbed reptilians (urparisarp) like-serpent; both these have many other kinds. (181)
