एएसिं वण्णओ चेव, गन्धओ रसफासओ।
संठाणादेसओ वावि, विहाणाई सहस्ससो॥१६९॥ वर्ण, गन्ध रस, स्पर्श और संस्थान की अपेक्षा से इन नैरयिक जीवों के हजारों प्रकार हो जाते हैं॥ १६९॥
These infernal beings are also of thousands of kinds with regard to colour, smell, taste, touch and constitution. (169) तिर्यंच पंचेन्द्रिय त्रसकायिक जीवों की प्ररूपणा
पंचिन्दियतिरिक्खाओ, दुविहा ते वियाहिया।
__ सम्मुच्छिमतिरिक्खाओ, गब्भवक्कन्तिया तहा॥१७०॥ जो पंचेन्द्रिय तिर्यंच जीव हैं, वे दो प्रकार के कहे गये हैं-(१) संमूछिम तिर्यंच पंचेन्द्रिय जीव, और (२) गर्भ व्युत्क्रान्तिक (गर्भज) पंचेन्द्रिय तिर्यंच जीव॥ १७० ॥ Animal mobile beings
Animal beings are said to be of two types-(1) sammurchhim tiryanch panchendriya jiva (five-sensed animals of asexual origin), and (2) garbhavyutkrantik panchendriya tiryanch jiva (five-sensed animals born out of womb)-(170)
दुविहावि ते भवे तिविहा, जलयरा थलयरा तहा।
खहयरा य बोद्धव्वा, तेसिं भेए सुणेह मे॥१७१॥ __ये दोनों प्रकार के (गर्भज और संमूछिम) पंचेन्द्रिय जीवों के तीन प्रकार और जानने चाहिये(१) जलचर, (२) थलचर (स्थलचर), और (३) नभचर। इन तीनों के भेद मुझसे सुनो॥ १७१॥ ____Again, either of them is of three kinds-(1) aquatic, (2) terrestrial, and (3) aerial (animals). Hear the subdivisions of these from me. (171) तिर्यंच पंचेन्द्रिय जलचर जीव
मच्छा य कच्छभा य, गाहा य मगरा तहा।
सुंसुमारा य बोद्धव्वा, पंचहा जलयराहिया॥१७२॥ जल में विचरण करने वाले तिर्यंच पंचेन्द्रिय जलचर जीव पाँच प्रकार के कहे गये हैं-(१) मत्स्य, (२) कछुआ, (३) ग्राह-घड़ियाल, (४) मगरमच्छ, और (५) सुंसुमार-ये पाँच प्रकार जानने चाहिये॥१७२॥ Five-sensed aquatic animals
Five-sensed aquatic animals are said to be of five types-(1) fish, (2) tortoise, (3) alligator, (4) crocodile, and (5) sumsumar (may be Gangetic porpoises). (172)
