षट्त्रिंश अध्ययन [528]
संतई पप्पऽणाईया, अपज्जवसिया वि य।
ठिई पडुच्च साईया, सपज्जवसिया वि य॥१०१॥ संतति प्रवाह की अपेक्षा से वनस्पतिकायिक जीव अनादि-अनन्त हैं किन्तु स्थिति की अपेक्षा से वे सादि-सान्त भी हैं॥ १०१॥
In context of continuity these plant-bodied beings are beginningless and endless. However in context of existence at a particular place they have a beginning as well as end. (101)
दस चेव सहस्साइं, वासाणुक्कोसिया भवे।
वणप्फईण आउं तु, अन्तोमुहुत्तं जहन्नगं॥१०२॥ इन (बादर वनस्पतिकायिक जीवों) की उत्कृष्ट आयुस्थिति दस हजार वर्ष की है और जघन्य आयुस्थिति अन्तर्मुहूर्त की है॥ १०२॥
The maximum life-span of (gross) plant-bodied beings is ten thousand years and minimum is of one Antarmuhurt (less than forty-eight minutes). (102)
अणन्तकालमुक्कोस, अन्तोमुहुत्तं जहन्नयं।
कायठिई पणगाणं, तं कायं तु अमुंचओ॥१०३॥ वे वनस्पतिकाय के जीव यदि उसी काय में जन्म-मरण करते हैं तो उनकी कायस्थिति उत्कृष्टतः अनन्तकाल की और जघन्य कायस्थिति अन्तर्मुहूर्त की होती है॥ १०३॥
If plant-bodied beings continue to die and get reborn in the same state without leaving their body-type, then the maximum life-span for the body-type is infinite time and minimum is of one Antarmuhurt. (103)
असंखकालमुक्कोस, अन्तोमुहुत्तं जहन्नयं।
विजढंमि सए काए, पणगजीवाण अन्तरं॥१०४॥ अपनी यानी वनस्पतिकाय से निकलकर अन्य कायों में जन्म-मरण करके पुनः वनस्पतिकाय में उत्पन्न होने (अन्य कायों में बिताया हुआ काल-अन्तराल) का अन्तर उत्कृष्टतः अनन्तकाल का है और जघन्यतः अन्तर्मुहूर्त काल का है॥१०४॥
The maximum intervening period between once leaving the body-type (plant-body), (taking rebirth in other body-types and moving in cycles of rebirth as other body types) and again taking rebirth in the same body-type (plant-body) is infinite time and the minimum is one Antarmuhurt. (104)
एएसिं वण्णओ चेव, गन्धओ रसफासओ।
संठाणादेसओ वावि, विहाणाई सहस्सओ॥१०५॥ इन वनस्पतिकायिक जीवों के-वर्ण, गन्ध, रस, स्पर्श और संस्थान के आदेश-अपेक्षा से हजारों प्रकार बताये गये हैं॥ १०५ ॥
These plant-bodied beings are also of thousands of kinds with regard to colour, smell, taste, touch and constitution. (105)
