स श्री नान्यपरितिक्षितेरधिपतिगांधर्वविपति
गीताध्यायमिमं सुबोधमकरोत्प्रत्यग्रवाणीपतिः ।। The correct verse must have been somewhat like the following:
मध्यप्रागपरांतकोत्तरदिशामुत्तुंगमा.......... यस्योच्चैर्गुणवर्धमानमानशं गायन्ति दिव्यांगनाः । स श्री नान्यपतिः क्षितेरधिपतिर्गाधर्वविद्यापति-॥
गीताध्यायामिमं सुबोधमकरोत्प्रत्ययवाणीपतिः ॥ Folio 166 begins
॥ॐ नमः शिवाय । मागाश्रितानि गीतानि कथितानि मया पुरा।
अधुना देशिकागीतं सतालमभिधीयते । It is clear from this verse that folios 133 to 166 deal with
'माश्रितानि गीतानि' ( chapter IX) Folios 166-181 chapter x (“देशीगीतकाध्यायः”) 181-195

XII (“शुषिराध्यायः") 201-221
XIII (“पुष्कराध्यायः”)
It the above analysis we get only 13 chapters of the work. The colophon of chapter XI above states that it is “तालाध्यायः चतुर्दशः". Upto chapter VII (रागोत्पत्ति) our numbering of chapters and that of the colophons 'agree but if the protETTU is taken to be the 14th chapter as stated in the colophon, our chapter XII becomes chapter 15th and chapter XIII becomes chapter 16th and going back chapter X becomes chapter 13th, chapter IX becomes chapter 12th, chapter VIII becomes chapter rith, leaving us to account for chapters 8, 9 and 10 because upto chap. VII there is no discrepancy between our numbering and that of the Ms.
___Folio 205(a) half blank and 205(b) blank ; an endorsement in English on the last folio states that the work is “incomplete, 16th and 17th chapters wanting.” Presuming that chapters 8, 9 and 10 which we are unable to account for are really missing, we get 16 chapters in
