स्वंय से न तो बिल्कुल पास में और न ज्यादा दूर विविध मनसे मंडित यधिक दर्शनीय, बहुमूल्य, श्रेष्ठ पत्तन - बड़े नगर में उत्पादित व निर्मित स्निग्ध पट्ट (a) पर सैकड़ों चित्रों से चित्रित ईहामृग, वृषभ, अश्व, नर, मगर, पक्षी, सूर्य, किन्नर, रुरु, शरभ, भ्रष्टापद, चमरी गाय, हाथी, वनलता, पद्मलता प्रादि चित्रों वाला पर्दा बैठक के भीतर लगवाता है। यवनिका पर्दा लगवाकर उस पर्दे के भीतर के हिस्से में अनेक मणिरत्नों से जटित एवं अद्भुत मुलायम गद्दी व तकियों वाला, श्वेत वस्त्रों से प्राच्छादित, अत्यधिक कोमल, शरीर के लिये सुखद स्पर्श वाला और विशिष्ट प्रकार का भद्रासन त्रिशला क्षत्रियाणी के बैठने के लिये लगवाता है । ६४. भद्रासन लगवाकर सिद्धार्थ क्षत्रिय कौटुम्बिक पुरुषों को बुलाता है। बुलाकर उन्हें इस प्रकार कहता है - "हे देवानुप्रियो ! शीघ्र ही अष्टांग महानिमित्त के सूत्र व अर्थ के पारंगत, विविध शास्त्रों के ज्ञाता ऐसे स्वप्नलक्षण- पाठकों को बुलाकर लाओ।" ६५. तदनन्तर वे कौटुम्बिक पुरुष सिद्धार्थ राजा के इस प्रकार कहने पर [हर्षित हुए, संतुष्ट हुए, ] यावत् प्रसन्न चित्त हुए। हाथ जोड़कर यावत् राजा के कथन को विनयपूर्वक वचनों से स्वीकार करते हैं। स्वीकार करके सिद्धार्थ
And then, after performing protective rites with mustard seeds, he arranged for eight excellent chairs, covered with white cloth, to be placed towards his north-east. He next had a gorgeously-designed screen placed near him, neither too far nor too close. The screen was made of the costliest silk and was studded with gems and precious stones. It was embroidered with hundreds of figures spread in rows. These figures comprised: wolves, bulls, horses, men, makaras, birds, children, kinnaras, ruru-deers, Sarabhas, chowries, elephants, wild creepers and creepers entwined with lotuses. Siddhartha then had a stately and comfortable chair put behind the screen for Trisala to sit on. This chair was inlaid with gems and decorated with paintings. It had a spotlessly clean soft cushion which was delightful to the touch. Over the chair was spread a piece of white cloth. 64. Siddhārtha called his attendants and gave these instructions: "Hurry, beloved of gods, go and fetch those dream-diviners who are wellversed in the great sutra-work on prophecy and know it in all its eight sections and who are also adept in other disciplines."
