नमस्कार को स्वीकार करते हुए, हजारों ग्रहपंक्तियों को पार करते हुए, वीणा, हस्तताल, श्रुटित प्रादि के गाने और वादित्रों के रव से तथा मधुर और मनोहर जय । जयकार शब्द-घोष के मिश्रण से अत्यन्त मंजुल जयनाद घोष से सावधान होते हुए, समस्त समृद्धि के साथ, यावत् [समस्त द्युति, समस्त बल-सेना, समस्त वाहन, समस्त समुदाय, समस्त प्रादर-पौचित्य, समस्त ऐश्वर्य, समस्त शोभा, समस्त उत्कण्ठा, समस्त प्रकार के प्रजाजन, सर्व प्रकार के नृत्य और नाटक, समस्त अन्तःपुर, सभी प्रकार के पुष्प, फल, वस्त्र, गन्ध, माला और अलंकार, सभी प्रकार के वाद्यमान वादित्र, महती समृद्धि, महती द्युति, महती सेना, बहुत से वाहनों और विशाल जन-समुदाय के साथ तथा एक साथ बजते हुए अनेक उत्तम वाद्यों की ध्वनि के साथ एवं शंख, पणव, भेरी, झल्लरी, खरमूखी, हडूक, मुरज, मृदंग, दुन्दुभि प्रादि वादित्रों के तुमुल] घोष के साथ कुण्डपुर नगर के बीचों-बीच होकर निकलते हैं। निकलकर जहां ज्ञातखण्डवन नामक उद्यान है, जहां पर श्रेष्ठ अशोक का वृक्ष है, वहां पाते हैं।

He moved amidst all the splendours of glory, for he was surrounded by congregations of armies, carriages and retainers. He marched with honour, with the flourish of majesty, amidst a tumult of great excitement. He marched through the town of Ku dapura with great pomp amidst the sweet fragrance of flowers and perfumes and the magnificence of beautiful garlands, clothes, ornaments and splendours of every kind. His procession reverberated with the sound of a myriad musical instruments and shone with the dazzle of a thousand riches. It contained large contingents playing on the türya, yamaka and samaka; it rang with the sounds of conches, cymbals (papava), pataha-drums, kettle-drums (bheri), jhallari-drums, khara-mukhis, hudukkis and great dundubhi-drums.
