ग्रहों के उच्च स्थान में पाने पर, प्रथम चन्द्रयोग में, जब सभी दिशाएं सौम्य, अंधकार रहित और निर्मल थीं, जय- विजय सूचक सर्व प्रकार के शकून थे, दक्षिण दिशा की। शीतल, मन्द, सुगन्धित हवा भमि पर चल रही थी, उस समय मेदिनी धान्य से समृद्ध थी, जनपदों के हृदय प्रमोद से परिपूरित थे, तव मध्यरात्रि के समय हस्तोत्तरा नक्षत्र का योग पाने पर त्रिशला क्षत्रियाणी ने आरोग्य (सुख) पूर्वक स्वस्थ पुत्र को जन्म दिया।
