मरिग, मुक्ता, शंख, विषहारिणी शिला, प्रवाल, लाल] रत्न-माणिक मादि सारभत सम्पत्ति से भी बद्धि को प्राप्त करने लगा और प्रीति, सत्कार व सद्भाव भो अत्यधिक बढने लगा।
८६. अनन्तर श्रमण भगवान महावीर के माता-पिता के मन में इस प्रकार का विचार, चिन्तन, अभिलाषा रूप संकल्प उत्पन्न हुआ कि “जब से हमारा यह पुत्र कुक्षि में गर्भरूप में आया है तब से हमारी हिरण्य से, सुवर्ण से, धन से, धान्य से, राज्य से, राष्ट्र से, सेना से, वाहनों से, कोश से, कोष्ठागार से, नगर से, अन्तःपुर से, जनपद से, [यशःकीर्ति से वृद्धि हुई है] और विपुल धन, कनक, रत्न, मरिण, मोती, शंख, शिला, प्रवाल, माणिक आदि सारभूत सम्पत्ति भी बढी है तथा प्रीति, पादर, सत्कार भी अत्यधिक बढा है। अतएव जब हमारा यह पुत्र जन्म लेगा तब हम इस बालक का इसके अनुरूप, गुणानुसार और गुणनिष्पन्न

Mahavira reflected, and formed this resolution : "Ever since this child, our son, has entered the womb, we and ours have increased in every way. Therefore, when our son will see the light of the day, we shall name him Vardhamana (the Increasing One), a noble name and a name befitting his supreme merits."
