She became distressed and spiritless. Her heart sank in a sea of sorrow. She sat brooding with her cheek on her hands and with eyes fixed to the ground. All the merry, multifarious sounds of drums and strings and cymbals, of music and dance, came to a stop in Siddhartha's palace. All cheer was gone and every one was sad.
किन्तु अब हिलता-डुलता नहीं है।" इस प्रकार खिन्न और दुःखित मन वाली होकर चिन्तारूपी शोक के समुद्र में डूब गई। हथेली पर मुख रखकर प्रार्तध्यान करती हुई, भूमि की और नीची दृष्टिकर चिन्ता करने लगी। उस समय सिद्धार्थ राजा के श्रेष्ठ भवन (महल) में जहां पर पहले मृदंग, वीणा आदि वाद्य बजते थे, रास-क्रीडाएं होती थीं, नाटक होते थे, वाह-वाह का घोष हो रहा था, वहां पर सर्वत्र शून्यता छा गई और सब लोग दुःखी तथा शून्यचित्त से रहने लगे। ८६. तत्पश्चात् श्रमण भगवान महावीर माता के मन में उत्पन्न हए इस प्रकार के विचार, चिन्तन, अभिलाषरूप संकल्प-विकल्प को जानकर अपने शरीर के एक देश (हिस्से) को हिलाते हैं। १०. तत्पश्चात् वह त्रिशला क्षत्रियाणी हर्षित व तुष्ट हुई, यावत उसका हृदय प्रसन्नता से खिल उठा और इस प्रकार कहने लगी-"निश्चय ही मेरे गर्भ का हरण नहीं हमा है यावत् स्खलित नहीं हया है। यह मेरा गर्भ पहले हिलता नहीं था किन्तु अब हिल-डुल रहा है। इस प्रकार वह [हर्षित व संतुष्ट हुई,] यावत् अतीव प्रसन्न चित्त से रहने लगी। ११. उसके पश्चात् श्रमण भगवान महावीर ने गर्भ में रहते हुए इस प्रकार अभिग्रह
89. Sramana Bhagavān Mahavira came to know of his mother's concern and apprehension. He made a little movement to his side.
90. This gladdened the heart of Trisala. A thrill of joy went through her frame causing the hair of her body to stand erect like kadamba flowers at the touch of rain. She exclaimed: "The child in my womb lives, he is safe; I have not suffered a miscarriage, for my child moves as before." Her spirits were cheered again.
