803. Things heard from the Poet's utterances have already filled the ears of the listeners. They still want to hear more of him. Therefore, they nod their heads to push down in the ears, as in sacks of grains, whatever they have heard, with a view to making room (TTATH) for additional things yet to be heard.
804. The learned men (fa3757) requested the Poet (araufar TET), with their eyes beaming in wonder, to tell them about this King also, on an occasion when life-stories of great man are described.
These learned men, while making such a request to the Poet aufaktur, extol the King especially with reference to his exploit in slaying the king of Magadha ( Gathā 844). 40 Gāthās ( 805844) thus give us a big Kulaka, with their subsidiary Kulakas. For instance, 12 Gāthās (805-816) speak of the King as an emanation of Visnu, whose portion he has inherited,-Vişnu who became the resort of all three worlds at a time when the mightly catastrophe of Deluge (704) took place. Nay, the King was an incarnation of Visnu Himself (Gāthas 817-826). Like Krspa, an incarnation of Vişnu, the King is an expert in the art of love and indulged in novel forms of love's pleasures (Gāthās 827-837). Even the captive wives of his enemies became enamoured of him, because he was so handsome ( 839-843).
805. The Poet describes what happens on account of the deluge (915). Seșa, who is all along supporting the earth over
