________________ Gaüdavaho the black fortnight the moon gets into the sun ( रविमंडल संपवेस ) . Cf. कृष्णपक्षे रविमण्डलप्रवेशो ज्योतिःशास्त्रे प्रसिद्धः । Com. 280 1134. The tips of eyebrows (з) are thrown up (fax) to shake off (e), as it were, the protruding (affe) earsprout ( कण्णपल्लव) and the wistful eyelashes (पम्ह ) start throbbing, as the blinking action ( णिमेस ) of eyes is controlled ( नियमन ), to have a full, uninterrupted view of the lover. 1135. A graphic picture of a blushing beauty, as she wilts under the stare of her love-smitten lover. During these blushing moments ( लज्जिएसु) it is only her forehead ( णडाल ) which bows down (णमइ ), while, involuntarily the (left) hand goes up to her throat and presses (f) the decorative chaplet of flowers. But the eyes have not moved away. In her effort to keep them fixed on her man, the eyelashes are turned upwards ( उव्वत्त), so much so that they kiss ( चुंबिअ ) or closely cling to the skin-folds (g) up above. 1136. Her hand trembles as it moves unsteadily (5) and pushes aside ( ओसारिअ ) the veil placed over her head ( णिरिंगि), with a view to have a better look (a) of the man at this time (समय). The hand holds to the region of her ear ( गहिअसवणावआस), as if for the purpose of fixing an aim (r) at her lover from her eye, which is now turned into a love's arrow (auffes). Cf. शराकर्षणं हि कर्णान्तं क्रियते धानुष्कैः । Com. her 1137. Even when moving away (1) from her lover, half-averted (वलिअमज्झ ) glances ( दिठ्ठाई ) are kept fixed (aifa) on him, the face is bowed down (33) in bashfulness and the slightly opened out (faf) tip of her lower lip (g) is visibly seen, as she goes ahead. 1139. The ladies having whitish decorations of lotus fibres, looking very much like the moon's rays, feel that they have now held the moon's rays locked up (a) within themselves and, as there would be no moonlight outside, they go over (ataifa) towards their lovers () absolutely fearlessly ( णीसंकंचिअ ) at nights. Cf. चन्द्रो हि चौर्यचरितानां बैसबन्धननिक्षिप्त इव अभयकरः स्तावको वा प्रोत्साहको वैतालिको वेति मतः । Com. 1140.
