849. Along with Sesa, there is also the divine Tortoise ( - ) down below. When the earth assumes the form of the cow, this Tortoise, with his mouth hidden inside (CHF), takes over the shape (AT) of her udder (31raitot), his four feet transformed into her four teats ( 9341627397), while his toes very much look like the cow's oozing milk (Terzia).
850. The Boar (413 ), the incarnation of Visnu (aort ), became the calf (avur3r). The Boar, with his snout (atui) lifted high (50) and turned and twisted about (atfa3r), soon (ET) assumed the form of the calf with its uplifted mouth (35).
851. The earth in the nether world was enveloped in the thick mass of darkness ( 7734 ). When she assumed the form of a cow through fright, she felt spasms of pain (fearfsusi) which forced out her cries or bellows ( T ), setting smoky waves ( iftar ) and thus dispelling (fafurahs) the darkness. Cf.

853. The earth has completely changed (9f7317) her form and nature (ETC) within a moment. Formerly on the surface of the earth, there were tufts (HET) of grass, slightly sprouting up ( furt ), which now, in her new form of a cow, appeared like morsels of grass, picked up (Hafes3r) sportively by her and thus filling her mouth.
854. The fat (4797) or profuse streams of milk began oozing out from the Earth-cow's udder. The Poet imagines that they are, as it were, the whole family of Sesa, collected by him to help him bear the heavy load of the earth down at the bottom ( ).
855-856. The two Gāthās together give one sentence. Our King's comparison even with the ancient king get who gave his own name to the Earth (- hence she is called 'eat or at
