scholars and to play the launching of a Jain text series and, after fully considering the prospects, undertake in a systematic manner the printing of the more useful of these books at least. In case such a series is advertised I believe many scholars native and foreign will like to co-operate in this cause and within a period of the next twenty years the world will find much of this literature open to them. For my part I am ready to do what service I can, and shall be glad to edit any books if I receive proper help from the Conference in the way of getting Mss together, and securing the earnest and intelligent co-operation of Jain scholars.
I am sorry my scanty acquaintance with Jain literature does not enable me to judge or correct the data supplied by your lists, but should I come across any point worth noting, nothing will please me so much as to communicate it to you.
Thanking you, lastly, for the present of the catalogue and hoping to receive similar kindness from the Conference in future.
