૧. ધ્વનિ સિદ્ધાન્ત, ધ્વન્યાલોક અને આનંદવર્ધન અંગે વિદ્વાનો
Maha Mahopadhyaya P. V. Kane-"The Dhvanyāloka is an epoch making work in the history of Alamkara literature. It occupies the same position in Alamkara S'astra as Pāṇinis Sūtras in grammar and the Vedant Sutras in Vedant. The work shows great erudition and critical insight. It is written in a lucid and forcible style and bears the stamp of originality on every page.'
Dr. Sushilkumar De-"Dhvanyaloka by its thoroughness and masterly exposition eclipsed all its predecessors, dominating, as it did, thoughts of generations of theorists even down to the present time.” “...they (later Alamkārikas) spent all their fine scholastic powers in refining and explaining but hardly in adding anything of abiding interest.'"2
डॉ. रामसागर त्रिपाठी- "ध्वन्यालोक काव्यशास्त्रका एक ऐसा प्रकाशस्तम्भ है जो एक ओर अतीत के शास्त्रीय सिद्धान्तोंको आलोकित कर उन्हें यथास्थान विन्यस्त करता है और दूसरी ओर समस्त परवर्ती साहित्यशास्त्र पर अपनी प्रकाशरश्मियाँ विकीर्ण करता है । यह युगान्तरकारी रचना है; आलोचनाशास्त्रको नवीन दिशा प्रदान करता है और शास्त्रीय तत्त्वोंको एक व्यवस्थित रूप देता है । लक्ष्यग्रंथोंकी दृष्टि से भी इसका महत्त्व कम नहीं है ।.... साहित्यशास्त्रमें इसका उतना महत्त्व है जितना व्याकरण में पाणिनिका और वेदान्त में वेदान्तसूत्रोंका |
आचार्य जगन्नाथ पाठक - " ध्वन्यालोक भारतीय साहित्यशास्त्रका महनीयतम निर्माण है । यह एक आलोकस्तम्भकी भांति अपने चतुर्दिक आलोक विकीर्ण करके काव्यके अनुन्मीलित पूर्व आभ्यन्तर पक्षोंको आलोकित करता हुआ आज भी चीर - नवीन बना हुआ है ।"
