BeFi is the only Saṁskṛta text containing the story of the hero's birth, the motif of which Belloni Filippi believes to have beer. suggested by the modern form of the name 'Nāsiketu', into which the old name ‘Nāciketas' had been transformed in popular tradition. Of this ‘Näsiketopākhyāna' (or of a text very closely akin to it ), our Rājasthānī recension, as represented by Si and Te, is a very short and rather bad abstract.
