________________ 420 VIVEKACUDAMANI देहेन्द्रियेष्वहंभावः इदंभा वस्तदन्यके । aeg at wan: zanfq a sitaryan zouà 11839 || dehendriyeṣvahambhavaḥ idambhavastadanyake yasya no bhavataḥ kvāpi sa jivanmukta işyate || He is said to be a jīvanmukta to whom there does not ever arise the sense of the 'I' in the body and its organs and the sense of 'this' in other things. anyake: in other things like pot etc. kvapi: at any time. The body and its organs, and the pot etc., agree in their character being non-atman and are therefore viewed in equal measure. The sense of the 'I' and 'this' in them is to be traced merely to previous vāsanās. Therefore, it will not ever arise to a jīvanmukta whose understanding is free of all vāsanās. 440 ♬ scurazoitwa mersfa wajariat: 1 प्रज्ञया यो विजानाति स जीवन्मुक्त इष्यते ॥ ४४० ॥ na pratyagbrahmanor bhedam kadāpi brahmasargayoḥ | prajñaya yo vijānāti sa jīvanmukta iṣyate 11 He is said to be a jīvanmukta who is not ever aware of (who does not make) any difference between the inner (pratyak) ātman and Brahman, and between Brahman and the world. By virtue of the following text, awareness of difference does not pertain to one who ever abides in Brahman that makes for fearlessness. vibhedajanake'jñāne nāśamatyantikam gate atmano brahmano bhedam asantam kaḥ kariṣyati (Manu) "When the ajñāna which produces the sense of difference has got completely destroyed, who will make the non-existent distinction of Brahman and the atman?" pratyagbrahmanoḥ: between the jiva and Brahman. brahmasargayoḥ: srjyate iti sargaḥ: world is called sarga as it is created; between Brahman and the world.
