Buddhabodhita. In the Jaina text, Samaväyänga Sutra, we find the usage of the word Pratyeka Buddha (Patteya Buddha). In Utträdhyayan Sūtra, Karakaṇḍu, Dumurkha, Nami and Naggatti are termed as Pratyek Buddhas. In Isibhäsiyaim Suttam, the forty five ascetics are referred as Pratyeka Buddhas. To attain the status of Pratyeka Buddha, no external source of inspiration is required. While, BuddhaBodhita is an ascetic who attains liberation under guidance of a spiritual teacher.

Tirthankara
This word is very often used which means a Divine sage, who makes a bridge (tirtha) to cross over the ocean of pain suffering, misery and transmigratory existence. The word 'Tithayara' is found in Uttradhyayana Sūtra. 11 Tīrthankara Aristanemi is titled and prayed as saviour of supreme lord of Dharma (Logannahe Damisare) 12 Tirthankara is reviver of the Jaina faith. The Tīrtha is also understood as holy place. He establishes the 'Tirtha' or 'Samgha' which is constituted of sãdhu (monk), sadhvi (nuns), śrāvaka (layman), śrävika (lay woman). A Tirthankara or an Arhat has one thousand and eight names. e.g. vītaraga, sarvajña, Jina, kevalin, buddha, mukta etc. The texts Mahāpurāņa by Acārya jinasena and Gunbadra and also Jinasahasranama composed by Asadhara, mention 1008 names of Jina, 13

The follwoing twenty observations jointly or severally are the causes of Tirthankar-nama-karma. Which leads the jiva to become Tirhankara (1) Reverance to Arhant, (2) Reverance to Siddha, (3) Reverance to Pravacana, (4) Reverance to Preceptor Guru, (5) Reverance to aged Monks, (6) Reverance to highly learned, (7) Reverance to ascetics, (8) Constant use of knowledge, (9) Purity of right faith, (10) Modesty towards knowledge, (11) Daily practice of 6 essential religious activities, (12) Observance of vows, (13) Renouncing the world, (14) Observing austerity, (15) Offering to competent personage, (16) Ceaseless pursuit of knowledge, (17) Providing easement to all asetic sages and adopt equanimity, (18) Providing easements to fourfold religious order, (19) faith or belief in scriptural texts, (20) Spreading the pravacana.
