________________ १६० remove the injustice is a justice itself. Mahābhārata mentions that Srikrsna went to Dhrtarāstra after having a detailed discussion with Pāņdavas, while the Jaina tradition remarks that Śrīkļşņa went directly to Dhrtarastra for creating peace between two parties. He insisted for giving even five villages to Pāndavas which Duryodhana totally refuses. 58 31. Bhişmapitämaha advised Śrīkrsna not to be indulged with the war. Srikrsna honoured the view with saying that he will not use the Sastras at all. The Mahābhārata on the otherhand, says that at the request of Arjuna, Srikrsna renounced the idea for using the Sastras in the war.39 32. Kuntī went herself to Karņa in Vedic tradition for giving understanding that he is her own son while Jaina tradition says that this mystery was unearthed by Śrīksșņa. 33. Jaina tradition says that Pandu was alive during the Mahābhārata war while the Vedic tradition does not accept it. 34. Jain texts do not usually mention the Mahābhārata war. However,60 Jinasena is of the view that war was held between Śrīkrsna and Jarasandha. Devasūri mentions that KauravaPāndava war was held prior to Jarāsandha war, as Mahābhārata indicates. 35. In the absence of Mahābhārata war, the Jaina texts do not mention any surmon as Gītā does. However, the preachings are insearted here and there. Siśupālabadha was held during Jarāsandha war according to Jaina Texts, while the Mahābhārata does not create any connection with it. 36. 37. Madirā, Dvaipāyana and Agni are proved to be the main reasons behind Dwārikādahana. Except Śrīkrsna and Balarāma, entire Dwārikā was destroyed in fire and submerged into the sea. Śrīkrsna and Balarama went to Jirņodyāna. Then Śrīkrsna was killed by Jarākumāra, his own brother by mistake in the Kaušāmbi forest. It is said in the jaina Texts that Srikrsna will be 12th Tīrthankara by the name Amama in future. Balarama Jain Education International For Private & Personal Use Only www.jainelibrary.org
