________________ 12 M A Dhaky in order, the pot (kumbhaha), the major friezo (jangha),* the spire (fikhara), the neck (kantha) and the myrabolan (amalasaraka); "Tadanu prasadań gatva kumbhaka jangha-sıkhara-kantha amalasärakeşu brahma-pancakam Pithivyadini ca tattvādi vinyasya puşpakşatadibbih mula. mantrena prasadamadhivasayet," The text further refers to the crowding members of the temple, namely, the peak (cülaka), the pitcher final (kalaba), the banner (dhvaja) and the sacred wheel (dharmacakra) in order of the sequence 10 placement. «Tataś carusaktim calak adbāre ratnapancakam culakan kalalam dhyajam dharmacakarm ca yathakramam sthāpayet.'' The banner (implied to be over the spire) has been described in some details. It has to be of silk, (palfanšuka), bearing the cognizance of bull turşahh adi cihnile) and further ornamented with golden bell and rattle (kanaka-ghantıka-ghargharik opatobhitam) and with varied floral ribbings (vicitra-puspa-katak alankste). It is to be borne on a staff (dande Jasyoya); and after the ceremonies are over, to be raised and placed in the banner holder with chant-utterance (dhyajad hare sah ordhuibhutan dandan müla-mantrena nivesayet.) The staff has to be now (nūtanara), and made of bamboo (denumayam), uomutilated (avyangan), with peei intact (sa-tyacan), straight or uabent (saralas), hailing from a good locale (subha-desajam), with Internodes in odd number (pravardhamana-parvarn), and, its proportion has to be according to the dimensions of the building (prasada-manena pramāņam partkal payet ) The relative proportion of the temple's basal diameter and that of the dag-staff from the basis of the latter's height. As the text goes on to say, for the tempic having widih from one to nine cubits (hastas), the height of the staff, would be four cubits, at further rise of building's height, the corresponding rise in the height of the staff would be two inches at the nxt of every cobil added ?j& Tac ca hasiat prabhști nava-basta-paryanteşu pratima prasadequ cau-karad arabhya dviuddhya danda-pramanam avaseyam".
