EXPLANATORY NOTES
46. नन. 'certainly'. Blessing a bero witha blood-tilaka is often described in the populur ballads in India.
___49. स्थापितो मुजभूपतिः, अर्थात् मुभ्यो भूपतिवम स्थापितः । Note the compound without samarthya.

To supplement this verse Bl quotes the following: अषमा घनमिति बसमानी हि मध्यमाः । उसमा मानमिच्छन्ति मानो हि महतो धनम् ।। This oil-mitler-Sindhula episodc is found in ane of the N5s of the Prabandhachintamani. It reads: बन्यबा (सिन्धुझेन ) पाराविर्माचिता । तेन (तलिकेन) नापिता। ततः कोपाटाल्य तस्कण्ठे माफयित्वा क्षिप्ता । तसिकेन रावा कता।
राजा पुनः सरजामकरायत् । बलोस्कटवन भीतो भुजनपः। Prateendhuchintamani ( Singhi Jaina Series .NO.I, 1991, p. 21 ). The word पारापि, is from the Desi पाराई, rneaning 'a big thing made ol irun'.

70. To supplement this verse Bi quotes a verse, the correct reading al which is as follows:
आक्रोशिशोपि मुजनों न ववेदवाक्यं संपीडितोमि मधुर भरती दमः ।
मोरो जनो गुणशतैरपि सेम्यमानो हास्य हि यददति सत्कलहंषु वाच्यम् ।। This verse is found in the Subhashitanati [ verse 277].

Tlic story Ol blinding Sindhula is found in only one of the MSS of the Prabandhackintamani (Op. cit p. 21-22 ) which Tons as follows:
इतपच कपि मर्दनकारियो महाकलावन्तो देशान्तरादागता राज्ञा मिलिताः । ..............तेब स्वासया हस्तपादावलान्यतार्य पुनः सज्जीकुर्वन्ति । ......."हो राजा सिन्धुलस्याप्येवं कारयति । तस्यापत्तारितषु निश्चेष्टतां गतस्प नेनोशारं चकार । सज्जस्य तस्य नेत्रग्रहणे क: समर्थः ? बत: अनेम प्रकारेण ।

81. नरः, 'men', nominative plural of न्। चूधामणो, probably refers to an astrological work. CI. Camilyfisura, The names like Chidamansara,ika.

85. अक्षरचोरिका, a bit of paper containing letters i. e. words on the future of the new burn'.

88. This verse is found in Ballalasena'y Bhojaprabantha (V. S. Pruss, 1921, p. 2, verse 6)and in the Prashantinachintamani (op. cit., P. 22. verse 35 ). सगोडो fag , probably the Dekkan with the whole of North India i.c. Bllarata Varsha'.
