अक्षराणि ममशीर्षारिण, वतुं लानि धनानि च । परस्परमलग्नानि, यो लिखेत् स हि लेखकः ॥ समानि समशीर्षारिण, वर्तुलानि धनानि च । मात्रासु प्रतिवद्धानि, यो जानाति स लेखक ॥ शीर्षोपेतान् सुसपूर्णान् शुभश्र णिगतान् समान् । अक्षरान् वै लिखेद् यस्तु, लेखक. स वर स्मृत' ।।

सर्व देशाक्षराभिज्ञ सर्वभाषाविशारद । लेखक कथितो राज्ञ सर्वाधिकरणेषु वे || १ || मेधावी, वाक्पटुर्धी, लघुहस्तो जितेन्द्रियः, परशास्त्रपरिज्ञाता एवं लेखक उच्यते ||२॥
