________________ Material for Research । 309 सति वचन मुख कहे, पाप गुन पाप न बोले । सुगुरु वचन परतीत चित्त थे कदै न डोले । बोल सुबेन परिनिष्ठ सुन ईष्ट बैन सब सुख करै। कहै चंद वसत जग फद मैं ए: सुभाव सजन धरै ।। In the words of the poet, foolish persons are just reverse of the noble persons - जाके जीव परपच रंच मुख नाहि सजन को। महा मोह मद लोन, फिर भूलो निज धन को। अवगुन गहि गुन तज, भजे कायर ज्यो रन मैं । सूर पनी निज नही, कही जानपनो निन मै। जिन मै न भेद परि आपको सो अजान पमु सारिखो । हिरदे हरप निज परख विन ए मू ढन को पारखो। 45. GORA BADAL KATHA: Gora Badal Katha is a historical work of Jatmal Nahar who was a 17th Century poet. His father Dharms was the resident of Lahore The work deals with the story of Goră and Badal, famous warriors of Udajpur and who fought with emperor Allauddin for the sake of King Ratan Sena of Udaipur who fell in love with Padmini and brought her from Ceylon. This is a Rajasthani work. The story of the work has been borrowed from Jāyası's PADMAVATA which was written in 16th A.D. Century. Gora Badal Katha was completed in the year 1623 A. D. The manuscript is preserved in the Grantha Bhandar of Fatehpur. The poet mentioned his name and also his father's name in one of the stanza: जिहा राज राज अलीग्वान गाजी खान न सरनद । मिरदार सकल पठारण माही ज्यू नखेत्र मै चद ।। धरसी को नद जटमन, जात नाहर ताम । जिन कही कथा वनाय करि बिच सबला मै ठान ।। The work is full of Vira Rasa but in some places where the beauty of Padmini has been described. SRANGARA RASA" has also bern used. Raghava describes the qualities of Padmini's beauty before Allauddin as.under' पद्मावति मुखचद पदम सम गंध जु प्रावति । भवर भमै चहू पोर देख सुर..प्रमुर लुभावति ।।
