________________ Material for Research [ 277 4. BARAKHARI DOHA : This was composed by Mahăcand, the pupil of Viracanda. The time of the work is not given by the poet, but it appears that it was composed not later then the 16th Century. as one copy of the manuscript preserved in Amer Sastra Bhandar is of 1534 A. D. It is a spiritual work and deals with Atma, Parmatma and the World. The total number of Dohas is 333. Some of the Dohās are as follows : सो दोहो अप्पारणयह, दोहा जोण मुणेइ । मुणि महयदिण भासियउ, सुरिण विण चित धरेइ ।। ६ ॥ कायहो सारउ एउ जिय, पंच महारगुवयाई ।। अलिउ कलेवर मारुतह, जेहिण धरियइ ताई ॥८॥ खरिण खरिण खिज्जइ भाव तसु, रिणयडइ होइ कयतु : तहिवण थक्कइ मोहियऊ, मे मे जीउ भरणतु ।।१६।। ते किं देखें कि गुरेगण, धम्मेण य कि तेण । अप्पह चित्तह रिणम्मलऊ, पच्चउ होइ ण जेण ॥ १५७।। मे परियणु मे धणगु धणु, मे सुप्र मे दाराइ ।। इउ चितंतह जीव तुह, गय भव कोजि सयाइ ॥२६५।। 5 SIKHA MANI RASA : The Rasa was composed by Bhattaraka Sakalkirti ( 15th Century ). The poet imparts some teachings to his readers for remaining pure at heart and kind towards all human beings : जीव दया दृढ पालीइए, मन कोमल कीजि । प्राप सरीखा जीव सबै, मन मांहि धरीजह। The poet also requests that one should not disturb others while perfoming religious duties :
