(8) ŚRI CANDRA PRABHA SARASWATI BHANDAR.
The Candra Prabha Saraswati Bhandar is situated in the Jain temple of Dewan Amarcand., who remained a prominent Dewan of the former State of Jaipur in the 19th century for a lorg period. His father named Sivjiläl was also Dewan of the state in the time of Māhārājā Jagat Singh. He constructed a Jaina temple. The temple which was constructed by Shivjill is called temple of Bādā Dewanji, while the one which was built by his son Amarcanda is called temple of Chogā Dewānui. This temple is situated in the Lālji Sănd kā Rāstā, Caukri Modi Khānă. The temple relates to Terapanthi Sect. There are 830 manuscripts in the Šāstra Bhandar, of which about 350 are incomplete. This is due to the mismanagement of the authorities who gave the manuscripts to the readers and never demanded them back. There is a good collection of Sanskrit works, and specially of Půjā and Puräna literature. The whole manuscripts may be divided as under -
Samshut-418, Apabhrama-4, Hindi-311, Prākrit-58 and the important subjects on which the manuscripts are available are as follows --

PATRONS OF THE BHANDAR.
The Sastra Bhandār was established at the time of the construction of the temple. Dewan Amarcand took a great interest in the collection of the manuscripts His contemporary scholars of Jaina literature were Rājamala, Nawal Rāma, Gumāni Rām, Jarcandra Chabrā, Dālu Rām, Mannā Lal Khindaka and Swaroop Cand Bılā ā and with the help of these scholars he managed to collect a good number of manuscripts. Kšatra Cudāmaņi (1834) Gomattasāra (1828) Pancatantra (1830) and Pratimāsānta Caturdaši Vratodyapana (1820) were got copied by him and placed in the Grantha Bhandar.
