The authorities of architecture and sculpture, specially mentioned are Maya and Viśvakarman, Garga and Manu, Nagnajit, Vasistha and Bhaskara.r

While, it is not necessary to make anything more than only passing reference to the Vedic, the Epic (Itihasa) and the Classical Sanskrit and the Buddhist literatures etc., on subjects like architecture, art etc., these being dealt with, at great lengths by more competent scholars, elsewhere, the Purānas in this connexion call for special notice78.
